2012 Budget

Hello, Friends of Sherwood Library!

It's likely that many of you remember the budget discussions of the last
two years. There were neighborhood information sessions held in many
locations, including our own Sherwood Library. In each of those two
years, the budget for the library was cut dramatically- 15% each time-
resulting in reduced collections, staffing, and hours of service.

The County Executive has announced his proposed budget for FY 2012. You
can find further details on the County's website.
With an expected deficit, it is not likely that any funding will be
restored to the library.

The members of the Board of the Sherwood Library Friends encourage you
to attend a meeting at Sherwood on Sunday, March 27 at 1 pm. Representatives of Friends groups around the county will be discussing ways to communicate the needs of the library during this budget cycle - and your ideas and experience will be helpful. Alternatively, for those who cannot attend on 3/27, the websites below provide a perfect opportunity for voicing views and suggestions. We want to hear from everyone!
